Empty Arms: A Heavy Load to Carry

In Memory

By: Dorothy Donham

One day in Heaven, the Lord chose three of His most precious angels to perform a very important task:

I have a special job for each one of you

That will require your love

And unselfishness to do

For you'll have to turn in

Your halo and your wings

Because very soon

You'll become tiny human beings

On Earth, a longing couple has prayed

 parents they should be

Now, in my own timing,

I see fit to send them three

You'll bring their hearts great joy

And fill their lives with love abound

All because their heartbreak

Will be turned around

So show your love and compassion

And go where I send

Then again in my own timing

This important job will come to an end

At my chosen time

Your wings again you'll put on

Tears of grief they will shed

When they learn you have gone

But don't worry precious angels

My work is not finished yet

For one of you I shall leave behind

To be their Heaven-Sent.

"Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted."

Matthew 5:4

When we had our in vitro fertilization procedure done, we created eleven precious little lives.  To our sadness and loss, eight of our sweet babies ceased to grow and went to be with the Lord.  Three fragile lives were placed in my womb, but only one survived.  We believe that God had a special purpose for each of our tiny angels.  We are comforted that they are in the Lord's care.

"I thank my God upon every rememberance of you,"

Philippians 1:3

We often talk of that glorious day when we get to heaven and are surrounded by the ten precious children we lost.  There will be no more sad good-byes, no more moments lost, only eternity to love and hold them.

Our world is a much better place for having contained Ashley for the short time that it did.  Ashley touched the heart of everyone she came in contact with. She charmed us with her smile, she drew us near with her infectious sense of humor, she inspired us with her courage, and she blessed us with her love. Heaven has reclaimed our sweet angel, but we look forward to the day we're reunited and eternity begins. Ashley, your loved so much and greatly missed by all!

Our hearts go out to your daddy, Jerry, Stepmother Wendy, brother Christian, and your mom, Kim.
